About The Position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Chief Administrative Officer is responsible for providing strategic and operational oversight of the organization’s administrative and internal service functions in support of ACHIEVE’s mission. The Chief Administrative Officer ensures that organizational infrastructure, systems, and policies promote high-quality, compliant, and sustainable services for people supported and families served. As a member of the Executive Management Team, the Chief Administrative Officer partners with the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, and executive colleagues to strengthen organizational capacity, manage risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and align administrative operations with the organization’s mission, values, and strategic priorities. The specific duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the subsequent items, and are characterized in the following five standards of performance, defined as below: I. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as a member of the Executive Management Team, contributing to organizational strategy, policy development, and long-range planning. Translate the organization’s mission, strategic plan, and values into effective administrative systems and operational practices. Provide executive oversight of assigned administrative and internal service functions, which may include, but not be limited to: Innovation and Strategic Initiatives, Business Development, Facilities and Environmental Safety, Information Technology, Compliance and Risk Management. Advise the Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Management Team on administrative, operational, compliance, and risk-related matters. Assist with program grants and/or proposals as they apply to program and agency growth and development. Contribute toward the development, implementation and compliance of Board adopted policies, operating practices, and programmatic guidelines. Ensure administrative operations effectively support direct service programs while maintaining efficiency, accountability, and responsiveness. Ensure organizational compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, funding requirements, and accreditation standards applicable to nonprofit human services organizations. Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer to support responsible fiscal management, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation. Prepare reports, analyses, and recommendations for the Board of Directors and Board committees related to administrative, operational, and risk matters. Represent the organization professionally with regulators, funders, community partners, and external stakeholders, as appropriate. Act as agency liaison with community and state agencies Assist in preparing agency strategic plan Provide administrative leadership and decision-making authority in the absence of the CEO, as designated. Any additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Experience with development and implementation of policies and procedures and able to facilitate progressive organizational development
  • Possess both administrative and functional experience in assigned areas
  • Demonstrate proven skills in leadership, creative problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Experience with grant writing
  • Possess excellent analytical, interpersonal, written, oral, and communication abilities and effective time management/organizational skills
  • Be able to work scheduled hours that may include weekend and/or holiday timeframes and maintain an acceptable work attendance as defined in the agency’s personnel policy manual
  • Be computer literate with knowledge in agency operating systems and applicable software required for department needs.
  • Be able to prepare regular program/progress reports on assigned program goals and objectives and be able respond to questions about the reports
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in normal work and emergency situations
  • Must physically be able to perform required certifications and lift fifty (50) pounds
  • Possess a valid driver’s license acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred with at least 10 years of progressive management experience.
  • A combination of education and experience that in the opinion of the reviewing agency, exceeds the above standards of the program
