About The Position

The chemotherapy pharmacy technician is trained and proficient in the sterile and non-sterile compounding techniques required for the handling of hazardous drugs. The technician primarily works in the IV room compounding hazardous drug products for hospitals with significant oncology programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year of sterile compounding experience required
• National Pharmacy Technician Association (NPTA) Chemo Certification or similar required
• State Pharmacy Technician License and Registration required (if required per state regulations)
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required or obtained within 6 months of hire date (this requirement may be waived for current pharmacy students enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy

Nice To Haves

• hazardous compounding experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in hospital or acute care setting preferrred.
• 3 years of related pharmacy experience preferred
