Department Overview: We're seeking a Lab Technician for the Boise Corporate Labs team at Micron's Technology Development and manufacturing site! The Lab uses groundbreaking instrumentation and techniques to deliver engineering customers chemistry and materials analysis solutions through expertise in the area of quantitative analysis. Role Overview: This Technician role will provide operational support for Micron manufacturing and facilities groups. Basic daily duties will include proactive ownership and support of cycle time expectations, maintenance and troubleshooting of existing metrology systems, basic instrument operation, sample preparation, chemical handling, inventory management, and vendor and customer support. This role will work primarily in Lab and cleanroom Fab settings and candidates must be available to support any shift (A, C, E, F) including nights and weekends.

Requirements

  • A completed high school diploma or GED
  • Familiarity and experience operating and maintaining lab instrumentation, including ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS, Ion Chromatography, HPLC, GC and GCMS, molecular spectroscopy (i.e. FTIR, UV/Vis/NIR, RAMAN)
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) along with familiarity with LIMS systems
  • Possess quality written and verbal communication skills and excellent customer service
  • Be able to shift flexibility depending on business needs

Nice To Haves

  • AS, AAS, or BS in a Chemistry field
  • Chemistry or science lab experience in the semiconductor industry
  • Experience with total productive maintenance programs, logistics, safe chemical handling, basic instrumentation, and LIMS software systems
  • Project management experience
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) skills
  • Quality Programs and auditing

Responsibilities

  • Maintain proficiency in all applicable safety, lab procedure, security, and annual quality-related training
  • Strictly adhere to all safety and emergency procedures included in the Chemical Hygiene Plan
  • Independently perform routine operations and maintenance on equipment
  • Review charts and specifications to ensure quality of outgoing results data
  • Routinely deliver accurate documentation, verbal communications, and periodic presentations of results to peers and area leadership.
  • Collaborate with chemists to identify process improvement opportunities.
