About The Position

We are seeking a talented, hands-on R&D chemical engineer to contribute to a diverse portfolio of clean-tech research projects involving such topics as: thermochemical biofuel production, advanced wastewater recycling, adsorption technology (VSA/PSA), and composite materials. We are interested in applicants at all degree levels with specific experience in, but not limited to, any of the following areas: Reactor Design and Integration, Separation and Purification, Advanced Fabrication, Analytical Characterization, and Systems Engineering. The role may include rotations on product development teams for new chemical-related HVAC/R products. We are looking for innovative problem solvers who are self-motivated and capable of driving technical milestones both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering
  • Work experience (0-2+ years)
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required due to US Government ITAR restrictions
  • GPA > 3.3 at all degree levels
  • Demonstrated experience in a hands-on laboratory or pilot-plant setting
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and "maker" mindset for building custom apparatus

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high-pressure/high-temperature thermochemical reactors

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a diverse portfolio of clean-tech research projects involving thermochemical biofuel production, advanced wastewater recycling, adsorption technology (VSA/PSA), and composite materials
  • Design and assemble bench-scale and pilot-scale systems
  • Work with water purification technologies (RO, filtration, general desalination) and gas-phase separations
  • Perform advanced fabrication including electroplating, 3D printing, or composite material synthesis
  • Conduct analytical characterization using techniques such as gas chromatography (GC), spectroscopy, and wet-lab instrumentation
  • Utilize systems engineering skills including LabVIEW programming, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electronic systems assembly, and P&ID/PFD design
  • Participate in rotations on product development teams for new chemical-related HVAC/R products
  • Drive technical milestones both independently and within multidisciplinary teams
