POSITION SUMMARY The Chemical Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing the scheduling, dispatch, and coordination of bulk and packaged chemical shipments within the Transportation Division. This role ensures timely delivery of products through effective communication with carriers, warehouses, blending operations, and customers. The coordinator will optimize freight and load planning and ensure regulatory compliance for all chemical movements. This position requires a high degree of organization, flexibility, and problem-solving ability in a fast-paced environment. The position will demonstrate the company’s core values of Integrity, Service, Entrepreneurship, and Family and will report to the Logistics Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required; Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in logistics, dispatching, or supply chain coordination—preferably in a chemical or hazardous materials environment.
  • Familiarity with DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations for transporting hazardous materials is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience using ERP or TMS systems for order and shipment management.
  • Availability for on-call rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, adapt to change, and develop creative solutions to logistical challenges.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Hiring is contingent upon eligibility to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the scheduling, dispatching, and tracking of chemical shipments via tank truck, ISO tank, and packaged freight.
  • Analyze transportation options and optimize freight utilization to minimize cost and improve efficiency.
  • Communicate daily with sales, operations, and warehouse teams to ensure order accuracy and on-time delivery.
  • Work with common carriers to arrange transportation, monitor in-transit status, and address service issues proactively.
  • Process and manage customer orders from creation to invoicing, ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance with DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records in logistics and ERP systems, ensuring data integrity for reporting and audits.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and blending teams to ensure products are packaged, labeled, and prepared for shipment according to regulatory standards and customer specifications.
  • Execute load shifting or rerouting decisions in response to supply chain disruptions or weather-related delays.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and customer service.
  • Communicate effectively and thoroughly with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide after-hours logistics support.
  • Other duties as assigned.
