About The Position

As a Field Services Engineering Manager – Instrumentation, Process & Controls at Honeywell, you will be part of the Field Operating Services (FOS) global organization with regional accountability for the field services projects execution with strong alignment to instrumentation, process control, and controls-focused field services projects supporting UOP process technology units. In this role, you will lead regional execution of PC&I field activities, ensuring safe, high-quality delivery during unit checkout, commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting, and turnarounds. You will work closely with Technology Services, Regional Service Managers, Performance Managers, and Project Managers to align regional resources with business demand and customer commitments. People leadership is a core component of this role, with responsibility for developing technical bench strength, building future capability in instrumentation and controls, and reinforcing Honeywell leadership behaviors across the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related engineering discipline (Instrumentation, Electrical, or Controls-focused experience strongly preferred).
  • Experience supporting instrumentation, process control, or control systems within refining, petrochemical, or process technology environments.
  • Prior experience leading or coordinating field services, operations, or project-based technical teams.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, and employee development.
  • Working knowledge of instrumentation systems, control loops, commissioning, start-up, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Ability to manage regional resource planning, balance competing priorities, and deliver results within defined scope and accountability.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across regional and global, matrixed organizations.
  • Commitment to HS&E excellence and disciplined execution of Honeywell policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting UOP proprietary PIC control systems and advanced process control technologies.
  • Previous experience as an Instrument Advisor, PSA Advisor, PIC Advisor, or similar controls-focused field role.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and mentor instrumentation and controls talent, including early-career engineers.
  • Experience working in global or regionally distributed service organizations.
  • Familiarity with field service and project tracking tools, including SFDC / Field Service Lightning.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience standardizing and improving instrumentation and controls work processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide regional leadership and accountability for Instrumentation and Process Control (PC&I) Field Operating Service projects supporting UOP process technology units.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of instrumentation, control systems, and process control field activities, ensuring alignment to scope, schedule, and quality expectations.
  • Partner with Technology Services, Regional Service Managers, Performance Managers, Project Managers, and Sales to ensure effective cross-functional coordination and regional execution alignment.
  • Promote and reinforce a strong HS&E culture across all instrumentation and controls field activities, ensuring compliance with Honeywell and UOP standards.
  • Ensure field execution aligns with UOP specifications, proprietary PIC control system requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Drive consistent application of standard work processes to improve predictability, service quality, and execution reliability across the region.
  • Estimate and manage regional workforce capacity and technical capability to meet current and forecasted instrumentation and controls service demand.
  • Provide direct people leadership for a team of approximately 20 Field Operating Service advisors, with a primary focus on instrumentation, process control, and controls expertise.
  • Execute Honeywell performance and development processes, including goal setting, semi-annual reviews, 9-Block placement, talent assessment, and development planning.
  • Identify technical skill gaps and implement targeted development actions to strengthen instrumentation and controls bench strength within the region.
  • Oversee data accuracy, resource alignment, and financial tracking within SFDC / Field Service Lightning for regional PC&I field activities.
  • Leverage Honeywell digital tools and enablers to improve regional visibility, coordination, and execution effectiveness.
