We are looking for a highly motivated Chemical Data Scientist in our Chemical Artificial Intelligence group located in Sugar Land, Texas . The Chemical Data Scientist will focus on computational chemistry and molecular modelling. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Geology, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or related fields with 6+ years of experience; or M.S. in Chemistry, Geology, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related fields with 8+ years of experience
  • Prior experience in data integration and data engineering
  • Proficiency with molecular simulation software (examples like Biovia Materials Studio).
  • Strong foundation in computational chemistry: DFT, MD, Monte Carlo.
  • Force field selection/parameterization; QM calculations for molecular properties.
  • QSAR/QSPR modeling; data analysis and visualization.
  • Scripting/workflow automation (Python, Perl, or Materials Studio scripting).

Nice To Haves

  • Applied experience in surfactants, corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors, polymers, interfacial chemistry.
  • Oil & gas / specialty chemicals industry background.
  • Publication record or strong applied modeling project portfolio.
  • Bonus: synthetic chemistry awareness for feasibility/scale-up and rough manufacturability signals.

Responsibilities

  • Run and automate simulation workflows to screen candidates and generate property/performance predictions.
  • Apply computational chemistry methods (DFT/MD/Monte Carlo) and interpret outputs to guide R&D decisions.
  • Develop QSAR/QSPR models and analytics linking molecular features to target performance.
  • Select/parameterize force fields; perform QM calculations for key molecular properties.
  • Package simulation/AI results into actionable recommendations and validation plans with lab teams.
