About The Position

The Chef Manager assists the Director in overseeing the Nutrition Services Department. They provide leadership and culinary support to nutrition services team and oversees food production to ensure quality food and food safe practices. Duties include planning menus which comprises scratch cooking, ordering food and supplies, and qualify control.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • ServSafe certification required.
  • Knowledge of food service industry trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls and presentation.
  • 2-3 years of operational management experience preferred.
  • Ideal candidate works collaboratively in a team to support improvement initiatives, has a strong focus on customer service, and demonstrates superb communication skills.
  • Ability to serve as a leader/mentor, role model, and motivator within the department.
