The Cheese Utility Operator I develops and maintains a working knowledge of all plant positions to assist with personnel shortages, thereby meeting manufacturing requirements in accordance with organization and customer needs. This role involves operating every piece of equipment in the cheese department, filling in for employees as needed, and coaching new employees on equipment operations, work, and safety procedures. The operator will also assist with equipment questions or repairs, coach on new equipment and techniques, and assist in special GMP, Safety, or equipment training. Additionally, the role requires observing work and monitoring gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure conformity to production and processing standards, and understanding and operating SAP, MES system, and RF gun.
