About The Position
The Cheese Clerk is responsible for providing service that exceeds the expectations of customers by performing duties such as preparing goods (weighing, packaging, slicing, filling, stocking, checking code dates), serving customers, managing costs, setting up displays, and taking orders. They are expected to provide extraordinary customer service, demonstrating a positive "can-do" attitude, respect, and flexibility.
Requirements
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ability to stand
- Ability to walk
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to climb or balance
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities including close and color vision
Responsibilities
- Prepares goods by weighing, packaging, slicing; filling, stocking, and checking code dates in the Cheese Department
- Serves customers in the Cheese Department by listening to the request and obtaining the desired product
- Proper use of slicer to cut weighable product required
- Helps manage costs by controlling shrink and theft
- Sets up advertising displays or arranges merchandise on counters and tables to promote sales
- Answers the telephone and takes orders when necessary
- Provide customer service that is extra ordinary and exceeds the expectations of our customers
- Follow established policies and guidelines that go beyond simply smiling and greeting customers
- Have a positive "can-do" attitude
- Treat others with respect
- Easily adjust to changes in the workplace
