The Cheese Clerk is specifically responsible for delivering extraordinary customer service in the Cheese Department, which includes preparing goods by weighing, packaging, slicing, filling, stocking, and checking code dates, as well as serving customers by fulfilling their product requests. This role also involves the proper use of a slicer, managing costs by controlling shrink and theft, setting up advertising displays, arranging merchandise to promote sales, and handling telephone orders when necessary.
Requirements
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Provide customer service that is extra ordinary and exceeds the expectations of customers
- Follow established policies and guidelines that go beyond simply smiling and greeting customers
- Have a positive “can-do” attitude
- Treat others with respect
- Easily adjust to changes in the workplace
Responsibilities
- Prepares goods by weighing, packaging, slicing; filling, stocking, and checking code dates in the Cheese Department
- Serves customers in the Cheese Department by listening to the request and obtaining the desired product
- Proper use of slicer to cut weighable product required
- Helps manage costs by controlling shrink and theft
- Sets up advertising displays or arranges merchandise on counters and tables to promote sales
- Answers the telephone and takes orders when necessary
