Northwest HealthCare, six miles west of Christian, offers 24- hour emergency care, the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services. The Radiology Department at NWHC, provides out-patient and emergency services. Radiology is equipped with DR & PAC's technology. Our patients range from infant to late adulthood. Digital mammography performs screening, diagnostic & diagnostic follow up services. Diagnostic Radiology offers same day service. Role Purpose Performs diagnostic imaging procedures in general radiology on adults and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment, and quality control. Assists staff technologist in prioritizing and problem-solving patient care or imaging issues, and serves as a resource person. Delegates tasks to ensure proper daily operations. Assumes responsibilities of supervisor in their absence. Assists in the development and training of students and/or new employees. Provides continuing mentorship to the team.

  • Coordinating staff, overseeing dept. duties and protocols, managing workflow, image correction, etc. along with standard technologist role duties, i.e. performing exams, OR coverage, etc.
  • Prepares patient and equipment for procedures. Informs patient on instructions and what the procedure entails with a high level of customer service and professionalism.
  • Performs radiographic imaging examinations independently, in on-call situations (if applicable), portable exams, and other tasks assigned by the department.
  • Manages shift operations to include daily workflow, assignments, lunch schedules, and adjusts priorities and assignments to best meet department needs. Enters/escalates IT and equipment tickets.
  • Serves as the clinical resource and expert for the technologists. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to: problem solving, assisting with difficult exams, and mentoring.
  • Serves as the clinical liaison between the team and leadership team. Ensures that proper information is communicated from the team and escalated to the supervisor appropriately.
  • Associate degree or Trade School equivalency (or higher level of education)
  • Certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography - R.T.(R)
  • 2 years minimum as Registered Technologist required (5 years’ experience preferred)
