Located in Lakewood, Colorado, St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center where we provide a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region through our state-of-the-art medical campus and home base for Flight For Life Colorado. With four trauma rooms including the T-10 room, a dedicated field-to-surgery suite ready 24/7 for trauma surgeons and specially trained teams, our staff can provide life-saving care to the most severely ill and injured patients. As a Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech you will:

Requirements

• Basic Computer skills required.
• Two year of experience in a surgical setting, required.
• HS Diploma/GED required
• Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program required
• BLS from the American Heart Association required
• Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado. A person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration does not need to register as a Surgical Tech required
• Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery (CST) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required
• Physical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a specialty field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of the surgeon and RN.
• Assist surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed.
• Assist in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms.
• Scrub on all cases. Gen, Ortho (trauma) Neuro, Spine, Eyes, ENT, GU, Robotics (DaVinci XI/SI), Vascular, Endovascular, Cardiac, Trauma OB/GYN. Specialized teams for Cardiac, and Neuro only. Associates are cross trained for all other services.
• Giving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations.
• Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next day’s cases.
• Maintain Sterile field during procedures.
• Handing instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon’s needs.
• Maintaining and updating preference cards.
