About The Position
Charge Nurse - Day Shift (RN or LPN) Skyview at Bridgeport | Bridgeport, NE Schedule: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM Skyview at Bridgeport is actively seeking a Full-Time Charge Nurse for day shift (6AM-6PM) . About the Role The Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing resident care on the unit, coordinating with CNAs and the interdisciplinary team, and ensuring safe, compliant, and resident-centered nursing care throughout the shift. Registered Nurse (RN) Responsibilities Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and care planning Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician Monitor resident conditions and respond to changes appropriately Communicate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding resident status Oversee and support LPNs and CNAs on shift Ensure compliance with care plans, facility policies, and regulatory standards Provide skilled nursing interventions including wound care, tube feedings, catheter care, and other clinical procedures Accurately complete charting and documentation in a timely manner Serve as resident advocate and clinical leader on the unit Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Responsibilities Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and RN direction Monitor residents for changes in condition and report findings promptly Provide direct nursing care including wound care, catheter care, and other assigned treatments Collaborate closely with RNs, CNAs, and the care team to support resident needs Ensure residents' care plans are followed and documented appropriately Accurately complete required charting and documentation Serve as a consistent point of support for residents and families during the shift
Requirements
- Current Nebraska RN or LPN license in good standing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions
- Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures in a long-term care setting
- Understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to skilled nursing facilities
- Compassion for and commitment to the geriatric population
