Hematology Oncology Associates was established in Palm Beach County over 35 years ago, and has grown to include 10 Board Certified Hematologist and Oncologists and 6 Nurse Practitioners in 3 convenient locations within our community. Our goals are to provide state of the art cancer treatments with a high level of compassionate care in a warm inviting environment. We also specialize in treatment of coagulation blood disorders, leukemias and other hematologic benign conditions. Job Description: Supervise, guide, and mentor nursing staff on the unit, ensuring adherence to policies and standards. Provide leadership in coordinating nursing care during shifts, helping to allocate tasks to appropriate team members. Assist in the training and orientation of new staff or nurses. Oversee patient care delivery, ensuring that all patients receive appropriate care in accordance with their medical needs. Monitor patient progress, assist in developing discharge plans, and provide hands-on care. Monitor the performance of nursing staff, providing feedback, and supporting their professional development. Address any issues related to staff performance or patient care and escalate them when necessary. Ensure that nurses follow clinical protocols and best practices. Conduct patient assessments, supervise patient treatments, and ensure proper documentation of all medical records. Ensure patient safety by adhering to infection control protocols, monitoring medication administration, and ensuring proper use of medical equipment. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and departmental efficiency. Address issues or conflicts among staff, patients, or families, providing solutions to ensure a positive working and care environment. Make decisions on urgent matters, including staffing shortages or changes in care plans. Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare team members regarding patient care and treatment. Provide clear instructions to the nursing team and relay any changes in patient conditions or care plans. Assist in maintaining inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring the unit is equipped to provide optimal care.
