The Charge Nurse is responsible for leading and supporting nursing staff in the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compliant patient care. This role includes clinical mentorship, documentation oversight, and coordination of staff assignments based on patient needs. Demonstrates leadership capabilities and a commitment to nursing excellence. Experience in clinical teaching and quality improvement is strongly preferred.

Requirements

  • This role requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • Minimum of two years in a rehabilitative or acute care setting, with demonstrated leadership ability.
  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required; Child and Adult Abuse Certification required

Nice To Haves

  • CRRN preferred.
  • Experience in clinical teaching and quality improvement is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
  • Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Attention to detail in clinical documentation is essential.
