About The Position

The Charge Database Management Specialist (CDM) is responsible for maintenance, integrity, and optimization of the charge master and fee schedules within the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) department. This role ensures accurate charge capture, compliant coding structures, and alignment with payer-specific reimbursement methodologies across all departments with Boomerang Healthcare. This position plays a critical role in revenue integrity, denial prevention, and clean claim generation by ensuring that all CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, and pricing logic are correctly configured within the billing system. This is a remote role. We are only hiring in the following states: AZ, CA, NM, NV, OR, TX and WA.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification strongly preferred
  • 3-5+ years’ experience in: Charge master / CDM management Revenue Integrity or billing operations Pain management, orthopedic, or rehabilitation billing preferred Audit Management
  • Proficiency in billing systems management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end revenue cycle workflows
  • Ability to translate payer contracts into system logic
  • Effective cross-functional communication (clinical, coding, finance, IT)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the CDM including CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, revenue codes, and pricing
  • Ensure all services related to: Pain management procedures Rehabilitation / functional restoration programs Workers’ compensation services are accurately built and maintained in the billing system
  • Perform routine audits of the charge database to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Manage effective dates, version control, and historical tracking of fee schedules
  • Build and maintain payer-specific fee schedules for: Workers’ compensation Medicare Commercial payer contracts
  • Translate managed care contract terms into system configuration (rates, carve-outs, case rates, etc.)
  • Partner with Network Management and Finance to ensure reimbursement accuracy and contract alignment
  • Monitor regulatory updates (e.g., CMS, state WC fee schedules) and implement required changes
  • Collaborate with coding, billing, and clinical teams to ensure accurate charge capture workflows.
  • Validate that all procedures performed are appropriately mapped to billable codes
  • Identify and resolve charge gaps, underbilling, and over billing risks
  • Support pre-bill edits and charge scrubbing logic to improve clean claim rates
  • System support and optimization
  • Develop and maintain reports related to: Charge lag Missing charges Charge variance analysis Fee schedule accuracy
  • Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with CMS and state WC regulations
  • Assumes other responsibilities as appropriate to the position and organizational needs
