What you’ll do: As a Charge Capture Specialist within Perioperative Services, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely charge capture for surgical procedures across Loyola University Medical Center. You will support revenue integrity, operational efficiency, and compliance across multiple perioperative departments. Perform daily auditing, reconciliation, and posting of supplies, implants, and related charges within 24 hours of service Collaborate with nursing, materials management, supply chain, and vendors to validate usage and ensure pricing accuracy Partner with Patient Financial Services to review, flag, or hold incomplete claims during reconciliation Identify new billable supplies and implants and support activation of service codes, item numbers, and charge entry workflows Provide education and ongoing support to OR nursing staff on proper documentation of case events, supplies, and implants Monitor and report revenue cycle activities, identifying and escalating discrepancies or anomalies to leadership Maintain and update perioperative databases and reporting tools to support operational and financial tracking Analyze data using reporting tools (including SQL/Clarity) to generate routine and ad hoc reports on key performance indicators such as case volumes, turnaround times, and utilization Provide backup support across perioperative operations, including OR scheduling and tissue coordination Support a culture of safety, quality improvement, and service excellence in alignment with Loyola Medicine and Trinity Health values What we offer: Benefits starting on day one DailyPay available Tuition reimbursement Competitive retirement plans with employer match On-site wellness programs and employee assistance resources Opportunities for growth and career advancement within Trinity Health What you’ll need for this job: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree preferred 1–2 years of relevant job-related experience required; 3–5 years preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities Effective communication and collaboration skills across interdisciplinary teams Familiarity with healthcare systems, charge capture processes, or revenue cycle operations preferred Experience with data reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Epic Clarity, or similar systems) is a plus Compensation: Pay Range: $21.02 – $32.59 per hour Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
