About The Position

Are you a compassionate spiritual leader dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors through inter-faith ministry? Minnesota Masonic Homes (MMH) is seeking a Chaplain to provide holistic spiritual support to our residents, their families, and our staff. In this vital role, you will serve as a cornerstone of our community, fostering an environment of dignity, peace, and spiritual growth. Whether leading a traditional worship service, sitting bedside with a resident in their final days, or conducting an engaging Bible study, you will ensure that the spiritual needs of our diverse community are met with respect and excellence.

Requirements

  • Education: College degree in approved theological education; must have denominational certification, endorsement, or ordination.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to provide a supportive, caring ministry to people of diverse backgrounds and faiths.
  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Physical & Regulatory: Ability to meet the physical demands of the position and strictly adhere to HIPAA and safety protocols.
  • Commitment: A dedication to the "total person" care model and the ability to work cooperatively within a healthcare team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience: Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Spiritual Leadership: Plan and lead ecumenical worship services, including Sunday mornings and holiday observances (Christmas, Good Friday, etc.). Conduct weekly Bible studies and specialized memory care services.
  • Pastoral Care: Provide one-on-one counseling and visitation for residents and patients. Offer spiritual support to families and staff, maintaining a team-oriented approach to holistic care.
  • Rites & Services: Perform Communion, memorial services, funerals, and weddings as requested.
  • End-of-Life Support: Accompany residents through their final days, ensuring their desires are honored and their dignity is preserved.
  • Program Coordination: Supervise the facility organist and chapel volunteers; coordinate with on-call chaplains and visiting local clergy.
  • Community Engagement: Contribute to the community newsletter and participate in resident activities to build strong, personal connections.
  • Administrative Excellence: Maintain visit reports for clinical staff, ensure HIPAA compliance, and manage spiritual programming within established guidelines.
