About The Position

The Chaplain provides professional and competent spiritual care ministry, serving the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of others in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. As a member of the healthcare team, the chaplain is directly responsible for the implementation of the mission, values, policies, and procedures of the Department of Spiritual Health Services and the facility. Providence Alaska Medical Center fosters a culture of patient-focused, whole-person care built on understanding, commitment, and mutual respect, empowering caregivers. The position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, 8-hr Day shifts, 40 hours per week at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry or relevant religious studies similarly accepted in chaplaincy board certifying organizations
  • Four clinical pastoral education units
  • National Chaplain Certification within 3 years of hire
