About The Position

Under general direction of the Senior Director, Medical Staff Svs North Division and the Chief Medical Officer Alaska Region, the Senior Manager of Medical Staff Services is responsible for the Alaska Region-wide functions of Medical Staff Credentialing and Peer Review. Duties include the standardization and implementation of processes, forms, operational direction, training and advising Medical Staff Leaders as it relates to credentialing, privileging, and peer review within the ministries of Providence Alaska Region. This position is responsible for planning, execution, and strategy to support internal processes to maintain compliance with the applicable accreditation and regulatory standards. This position identifies and analyzes problems and solutions to support successful medical staff credentialing and peer review as individually defined by each ministry's medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, and policies, and privileging. This position is also responsible for the budgets of medical staff departments across the ministries within the Alaska Region as well as oversight of Medical Executive treasuries. This position provides direction and support to the elected Medical Staff leaders and hospital administrators working to align actions and programs across the Alaska Region. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, or Health Administration or 10 years experience in Medical Staff Office setting.
  • NAMSS (National Association Medical Staff Services) leadership certification upon hire
  • NAMSS (National Association Medical Staff Services), Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification upon hire
  • 5 years of experience in the field of medical staff and credentialing software system
  • 2 years of experience in progressive leadership roles
