About The Position
Position Summary: Responsible for providing spiritual and emotional support to patients, their families and staff on an on-call basis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- One year chaplain experience or other pastoral ministry experience
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in theology or related subject
- Clinical pastoral education, minimum of one unit
- Ordination and/or ecclesiastical endorsement
Responsibilities
- Responds appropriately to spiritual requests/referrals from patient, family members and staff.
- Participates in an interdisciplinary approach to pastoral care and patient health.
- Provides spiritual support through listening, prayer, and guidance in collaboration with staff and other primary caregivers.
- Participate in and provide educational programs for staff on ethical, spiritual and emotional issues.
- Develops and maintains a resource group of clergy within the community and healthcare system.
- Maintains records, reports and other documentation related to the work.
- Performs other related duties as required and directed.
