About The Position

This position is for a Chaplain Educator within the Mission and Spiritual Care department at Carolinas Medical Center. The role is part-time (PRN) and is responsible for assisting with the education of chaplain interns and residents, ensuring compliance with the standards set by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. The educator is also expected to complete annual continuing education and maintain accreditation portfolios. Additionally, the role requires adherence to professional ethics and general hospital standards to foster a cooperative work environment through effective communication, interpersonal skills, and teamwork.

Requirements

  • ACPE Certified Educator
  • Master’s Degree, in religious studies, theology, divinity or related field
  • Annual continuing education and peer reviews
  • 3 years in field related to chaplaincy or education

Nice To Haves

  • Board certification or Certification by one of the following: APC, NACC, NAJC, CPSP
  • 3 years as Certified Educator

Responsibilities

  • Assist with education for chaplain interns and residents in compliance with the standards of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc.
  • Complete annual continuing education.
  • Create necessary updates in accreditation portfolio as directed by the Director of CPE.
  • Adhere to the Code of Professional Ethics as outlined in the standards of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc.
  • Adhere to general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building, while following hospital/departmental policies and procedures, contributing to the overall quality of services.
