About The Position

Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa is a Jesus Formed Community on Mission, focusing on Community, Formation, and Mission as core tenets of discipleship. The ministry aims to enable God's people through Gospel teaching, training, and resources, encouraging a posture of listening, serving, and helping within the church community. The organization is committed to reaching those far from God by fostering spiritual formation, practicing spiritual disciplines, and displaying the life of Jesus. Originating in Costa Mesa, CA, the ministry has expanded and is now re-focused as a local Church-centered organization dedicated to forming, resourcing, and educating followers of Jesus. At The Chapel Store, the mission is to provide biblically sound books, Bibles, gifts, and music. As a Chapel Store Clerk, the role involves demonstrating a warm, Christ-like attitude, offering kindness, patience, and care to customers, becoming knowledgeable about products, and contributing to an inviting and friendly atmosphere where customers feel valued.

Nice To Haves

• Strong computer skills in data base systems and/or point of sale systems, MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Retail or customer service experience preferred
• Excellent communication, teamwork and multi-tasking skills
• Cash handling principles and practices

Responsibilities

• Excellent customer service including cash register operation at Point of Sale, assisting shoppers on sales floor, answering the telephone, and creating a welcoming and hospitable environment.
• Housekeeping including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning windows and sanitizing register, cash wrap area, back desk areas, doorknobs and shelves.
• Handling special orders; which includes researching items using Bookstore manager, the Internet and industry contacts.
• Assist in the presentation, display and merchandising of books and merchandise in the store.
