About The Position

This role is for a Sales Account Manager representing Central Florida Public Radio. The ideal candidate loves independent journalism and is looking for an opportunity to leverage their expertise in pursuing sales opportunities, advertising agencies, and direct client relationships. The position's success will be measured by the ability to source and close new sponsors, increase revenue from existing accounts, and maintain an account list. A typical day involves hunting for new business, meeting with business leaders and agencies, engaging with and managing existing accounts, and proposing and selling sponsorship schedules, programs, and events. The role requires developing and growing an account list by prospecting and engaging with new clients, utilizing CFPR's extensive radio and digital products, and collaborating with a Business Development Specialist to craft compelling proposals. The effort fuels independent media in and around the Orlando region. Requirements

  • Experience in outside B2B sales, account development, new business development and agency management
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling
  • Skilled and motivated to close new business by implementing marketing strategy and tactics, and honed sales techniques
  • Confidence from being prepared
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a history developing trusted relationships
  • Broad-based business acumen with marketing knowledge across multiple key categories
  • Strong understanding of the Central Florida market, including decision makers, local events, and key accounts
  • Possess a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Possess a keen understanding of digital media, and prior success selling integrated programs including on-air, digital, and events
  • Experience in cause marketing strategy and execution

Responsibilities

  • Source and close new sponsors and increase revenue from existing accounts
  • Maintain an account list and develop new business to consistently execute sales activities
  • Drive revenue growth through participation in sales-related activities, including customer visits and Zoom calls
  • Deliver professional, solution-based proposals to all clients and prospects that include a co-op, negotiated fee schedule, completion period, and other related requirements
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with advertising agencies, sponsors, and colleagues
  • Track and manage activity by documenting activity in our CRM
  • Hunt for new business
  • Meet with business leaders, agencies, and engage with and manage existing accounts
  • Propose and sell sponsorship schedules, programs, and events to build and maintain relationships
  • Achieve/exceed sales goals and serve as a media consultant to your clients
  • Develop and grow your account list by prospecting and engaging with new clients
  • Use familiarity with local market media and competitor dynamics to distinguish CFPR as a key marketing resource
  • Utilize CFPR's extensive radio and digital products
  • Collaborate with team members, including a Business Development Specialist, to craft compelling proposals
  • Go to market with best-in-class materials supported by audience analytics to provide sponsors with proof of performance
