About The Position

Step into a strategic CFO role at a scaling SaaS emergency response management business, where you'll drive high-impact financial leadership, collaborate closely with a dynamic CEO and leadership team, and play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s growth, fundraising, and future success. CriticalArc CriticalArc is a dynamic and fast-growing global emergency management platform. We are a high growth enterprise SaaS business operating in three countries (USA, UK and Australia) and servicing high profile customers across the higher education, healthcare, government and corporate sectors. The business has recently partnered with a leading private equity fund and is seeking a high caliber CFO to join our executive team to help shape the future of our organization. What You Will Do The CFO is responsible for all financial, corporate and legal matters of the company, while playing a key role in driving the strategic and commercial direction of the organization. We are seeking a CFO who goes beyond the traditional 'number-crunching' mindset to act as a strategic leader and a true partner to the CEO, Board, leadership team, and broader enterprise.

Requirements

  • You are a forward-thinking and proactive CFO with proven experience scaling independent businesses and driving growth within the SaaS model.
  • You bring a strong understanding of the key metrics and strategies required to optimize valuation and attract buyers or investors, having played a pivotal role in major transactions or fundraising efforts.
  • More than just a finance expert, you are a strategic business leader who contributes broadly across the leadership team and is capable of taking on responsibilities beyond the traditional CFO scope.
  • Holds a current CPA or equivalent credential, with deep knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Experienced in navigating compliance across multiple jurisdictions; familiarity with Australian reporting is particularly valuable.
  • Skilled in building and leading high-performing finance teams with a strong mentoring and development focus.
  • Maintains strong, collaborative relationships across all levels of an organization, including a trusted partnership with the CEO.
  • Possesses outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders.
  • Comfortable engaging with external advisors, auditors, and investors to support governance, transparency, and growth.
  • Must reside in the Greater Denver Area.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all Finance & Accounting operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Shape and maintain the financial systems and technology infrastructure to ensure scalability and effectiveness.
  • Provide strategic, data-driven insights through KPI-led analysis and support for scenario planning, cash flow management, and stress testing.
  • Lead the development and execution of the company’s financial strategy, including support for M&A and future capital events.
  • Build and manage a high-performing finance team, while engaging with external partners for audits, tax compliance, and financial services.
  • Serve as a key liaison to the Board and major investors, ensuring timely communication, governance support, and transparency.
