About The Position

The CFO for the Truist Protection Services organization provides deep financial expertise, strategic partnership, and operational support across cybersecurity, fraud management, and AML technology. This role owns financial planning, forecasting, and performance management, translating strategy into actionable financial plans while ensuring strong financial integrity, cost discipline, and effective controls. The CFO leads reporting and analysis for senior leadership, the Board, Investor Relations, and regulators, supporting a complex and highly regulated portfolio that demands precision, transparency, and high-impact decision making. In addition, the CFO will be a key partner in shaping transformation across Truist Protection Services — including cyber platform modernization, fraud and transaction-monitoring innovation, AML technology optimization, and resiliency engineering. The role will help design funding strategies and investment frameworks that enable secure, scalable, and cost-efficient protection capabilities. This includes leading efforts to modernize financial processes, strengthen cost visibility, and align technology investments with enterprise risk-management priorities to enhance stability, strengthen client protection, and drive long-term value creation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent education and related training.
  • Twelve years of relevant accounting or finance experience that includes complex financial analysis.
  • Incumbent must possess the experience and business vision to provide leadership to support to the division manager and Executive leadership.
  • Sound and comprehensive understanding of business and organizational strategies and processes. Ability to build consensus through communication and presentation of factual and relevant information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interpret and communicate financial analysis to business partners in a concise and useful manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound and logical decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work well with others in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with GAAP, with specific knowledge of GAAP related to supported LOBs. High proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and other basic software products. Financial Modeling experience.

  • Supervisory experience of multiple teams
  • Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, or Chartered Financial Analyst
  • Master's degree of MBA
  • Specific financial services or specialized industry experience.
  • Proficient in Essbase/Hyperion, EPM/BPC, or other enterprise accounting software.
  • Experience with macros/VBA.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver financial leadership and operational support for a mid-size line of business.
  • Support financial planning, forecasting, and performance management aligned with strategic goals.
  • Contribute to reporting and analysis for executive stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and control within a defined scope.
  • Collaborate with line leadership to translate strategy into financial outcomes.
  • Manage a team, providing coaching, development, and performance oversight.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and process improvements.
