About The Position

As a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), you'll play a vital role in maintaining the safety and integrity of our most complex construction projects related to welding, bolt and steel connections performing non-destructive testing. The role is ideal for experienced inspectors ready to take on new challenges and responsibilities.

Requirements

A High School Diploma/GED
A minimum of 3 years of metals testing experience or an associate degree
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
Achievement of ASNT Level II certification per ASNT-SNT-TC-1A in at least one method
Safety, DDC, NDT, and/or Radiation Training
Experience in the use of fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems
A valid driver's license and clean driving record
Working knowledge of welding processes, structural steel fabrication, and industry codes

Responsibilities

Inspection and Non-Destructive Testing: Conduct inspections and deploy non-destructive testing methods to uphold impeccable quality standards. A significant portion of field inspection time is spent performing non-destructive testing (NDT) duties such as ultrasonic inspection (UT) of welds and/or magnetic particle testing (MT) of welds.
Project Testing Assignments: Juggle testing assignments across projects, contributing to the success of each endeavor.
Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: Maintain testing equipment in working order and calibration; can include managing field and laboratory equipment inventories, maintaining formal calibration records, and participating in quality systems audits.
Report Creation: Craft detailed reports to communicate findings effectively.
