About The Position

Join Ninyo & Moore, a leading firm in geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, construction materials testing, and nondestructive testing services across the southwestern United States. We have multiple openings for a qualified AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with optional NDT Level II certification in Phoenix, AZ. This role combines structural steel welding inspection with non-destructive testing responsibilities in our growing southwestern operations.

Requirements

• Current AWS/CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification - REQUIRED
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in construction quality industry
• Ability to read and understand structural blueprints and code requirements
• Valid driver's license with good driving record
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and positive work ethic

Nice To Haves

• Associates or Bachelor's degree
• NDT Level II certification in UT, MT, PT, RT
• Experience with pipeline, structural, and industrial piping testing and inspection.

Responsibilities

• Conduct shop and field inspection of structural steel welds and bolting systems
• Perform NDT testing using UT (Ultrasonic Testing), MT (Magnetic Particle Testing), PT (Penetrant Testing), and Radiographic Testing) RT methods
• Review and interpret blueprints and current code requirements
• Ensure compliance with construction and inspection standards for structural steel welding
• Maintain comprehensive documentation including field data, laboratory reports, letters, and RFI responses
• Communicate effectively with Project Managers and client representatives
• Manage proper filing systems for all inspection records and correspondence
