About The Position

Greenland Veterinary Hospital is an AAHA-accredited, small animal general practice located in Greenland, New Hampshire. They are founded on the motto “Trust Our Family with Your Family!” and are deeply committed to treating each employee and client as if they were members of their own family. The hospital sees dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and pocket pets, providing a wide range of services including wellness and sick appointments, surgical procedures, dentistry, radiology, ultrasounds, companion laser therapy, and in-house laboratory diagnostics. They are seeking certified veterinary technicians who desire to feel valued, make a difference in the lives of people and their pets, thrive in a busy, organized, and peaceful environment, and are eager to learn and build customer connections. The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, with a closure on Wednesdays from 12 pm to 2 pm, and is closed on weekends.

Requirements

  • A certified veterinary technician
  • 1+ year experience preferred but not required
  • Open to new graduates from an AVMA accredited program that are waiting to take the VTNE
  • Top-notch technical skills
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Thoughtful, friendly, curious, responsible, punctual
  • Strong desire to learn
  • Ability to withstand unpleasant odors and noises
  • Ability to interpret medical records and record client history accurately
  • Knowledge in preventative care and hospital flow
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
  • Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
  • Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs
  • Proficient in anesthesia preparation, monitoring, and recovery
  • A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
  • Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency
