About The Position

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Veterinary Technician program (Associate Degree)
  • Successful completion of the VTNE and current Michigan LVT license
  • Genuine passion for patient care and client education
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professional demeanor with a team-first attitude
  • Prior experience in the veterinary field

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient triage and obtain accurate medical histories
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures
  • Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia
  • Perform dental cleanings, radiographs, and oral charting
  • Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, fecal, cytology)
  • Place IV catheters and administer medications, fluids, and treatments as prescribed
  • Take and develop diagnostic radiographs
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and provide nursing care
  • Educate clients on treatment plans, medications, nutrition, and preventative care
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
  • Ensure proper sterilization of surgical instruments and maintain a clean clinical environment
  • Assist with inventory management and stocking of medical supplies
  • Follow all state regulations, hospital protocols, and safety standards
