About The Position

$17.00 to $19.00 per hour for non-certified, $20.00 to $22.00 per hour for certified/dual certified

Part-Time position working 20 to 29 hours per week, Monday through Thursday

Do you have a passion for horses and a heart for helping others thrive? Easterseals Florida is looking for a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities through therapeutic riding.

In this role, you’ll provide PATH International–compliant riding instruction in a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment while helping riders build confidence, skills, and independence. You’ll work closely with riders, families, volunteers, and fellow staff to support each participant’s cognitive, physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Requirements

• High school diploma required
• Current PATH International Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) certification
• At least three (3) years of hands-on equine experience
• At least one (1) year of formal horseback riding teaching experience
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with staff, volunteers, and professionals
• A flexible, energetic, and resourceful team player with sound judgment and integrity
• Willingness to work additional hours as needed
• Ability to meet our approved driver qualifications in order to drive your personal vehicle, as required, for program-related needs (minimum age of 21 and good driving history)

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic riding instruction following PATH International standards
• Create, track, and celebrate individualized rider goals and progress
• Supervise, mentor, and support volunteers during riding sessions
• Assist with equine care and overall barn operations
• Build positive, trusting relationships with riders and their families
• Help foster a welcoming, respectful, and team-oriented environment
