About The Position

St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado, is a Level I Trauma Center and a Magnet designated hospital, providing a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region. The hospital is recognized for its leading surgical services, state-of-the-art, minimally-invasive procedures, and advanced robotics technology. As a Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech on the Neuro Team, you will work in a fast-paced environment, partnering with exceptional physicians and nurses who value your skills and share a passion for innovation and outcome excellence. The hospital features 17 OR Suites, including a trauma room, a hybrid room, a designated CVOR, and a Cystoscopy Suite, handling 400-450 cases per month. Associates are cross-trained for all services, with specialized teams dedicated to Cardiac and Neuro cases.

Requirements

  • Basic Computer skills required.
  • HS Diploma/GED required.
  • Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program required.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association required.
  • Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado (or performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration) required.
  • Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery (CST) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required.
  • Previous OR Exp required- 6M-1Y Min.
  • Previous experience with Neuro service line required.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in a surgical setting preferred.
  • Experience in a specialty field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of the surgeon and RN.
  • Assist surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed.
  • Assist in preparing and moving patients.
  • Assist in sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms.
  • Scrub primarily on Neuro Cases.
  • Give breaks and/or provide additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations.
  • Assist with Room turnover and restocking for next day’s cases.
  • Maintain Sterile field during procedures.
  • Hand instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon’s needs.
  • Maintain and update preference cards.
