Requirements

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification by National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), or Certified Operating Room Surgical Technician (CORST) certification by National Health career Association (NHA), or Technician in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) certification by National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

Responsibilities

Anticipates the needs of the surgical team.
Assists with the teaching of newly hired technologists and student technologists.
Serves as a role model to new employees and other staff members.
Communicates effectively with patients, staff members and physicians.
Adheres to standards, including but not limited to: unit and hospital policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and patient safety goals.
Demonstrates appropriate and correct case preparation.
Establishes and maintains sterile field and assure team maintains sterile environment independently.
Applies basic knowledge of instrumentations to multiple surgical cases.
Corrects deficiencies at the case level.
Performs technical duties involving care, preparation and maintenance of sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment in the operating rooms in order to provide a safe and effective environment.
May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

Benefits

Base Pay Range: $27.21 to $42.99 per hour, based on experience
Additional $2.50 per hour until June 27, 2026
Additional $6 per hour for weekend
Up to $15,000 Retention Rewards
Additional $5,000 if moving from over 50 miles away (Relocation Support)
$2,000 per year for up to 5 years, totaling $10,000 (Retention Reward - Option 1)
$2,000 per year toward student loans, up to 5 years, totaling $10,000 (Student Loan Repayment - Option 2)
