About The Position

This is a full-time, day shift Certified Surgical Technician (CST) position in the Surgery Department at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth (THSW). THSW is a 222-bed full-service facility offering surgical and imaging services, a 24-hour emergency department, orthopedics and sports therapy, adult critical care, and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. The hospital has 1,100 employees, 120 volunteers, and over 600 physicians on its medical staff. It is recognized as a Pathway to Excellence® designated hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, a designated UnitedHealth Premium Surgical Spine specialty center, and has earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition from the AARC. The role involves assisting in various robotic procedures, including Urologic, Gynecologic, and General Surgery, and providing services in 10 OR suites for Orthopedic, Ortho/Spine, Podiatry, Plastics, Vascular, Gynecology, Urology, and General Surgery.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009 Or Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology Upon hire
  • CST - Certified Surgical Technologist CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) and graduate of an accredited surgical tech program Upon Hire Or CST - Certified Surgical Technologist CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009 Upon Hire Or CST - Certified Surgical Technologist CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) and graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology 2 Years Req Or LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, acceptable grooming practices and ability to function in a fast-paced, changing environment
