About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technician (CST) facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. Frye Regional Medical Center, located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina, is a 355-bed acute care hospital, an 81-bed Behavioral Health facility, and includes more than 70 primary and specialty care providers. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Certification for Surgical Technology with the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
• Competent in at least 3 specialty areas.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments.
• Performs the role of the scrub technician.
• Uses principles of aseptic technique to establish and maintain a sterile field
• Facilitates efficient completion of the surgery schedule.
• Maintains organized work area and participates in daily unit duties.
• Competent in at least 3 specialty areas.
