As a non-profit organization, our dedicated team of professionals, including doctors, nurses, therapists, and support staff, works to diagnose and treat all types of mental illness. Day to day as a CRISIS SCREENING CENTER-CERTIFIED SCREENER As a Certified Screener at Cumberland County Guidance Center, you will play a pivotal role in providing essential support to individuals in crisis. Your responsibilities will include answering our dedicated hotline to assist with phone referrals, delivering therapeutic interventions, and advising on necessary face-to-face evaluations. You will conduct thorough screenings and evaluations while stabilizing clients experiencing distress and meticulously documenting all interactions, both over the phone and in person. Additionally, you'll engage in ongoing training, supervision, and employee development activities, as guided by the Program Director, ensuring you continuously enhance your skills and grow within this fulfilling role. What we're looking for in a CRISIS SCREENING CENTER-CERTIFIED SCREENER To thrive as a Certified Screener at Cumberland County Guidance Center, you’ll need a robust set of skills and qualifications. A Master's Degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited institution is essential, alongside at least one year of experience in a psychiatric setting. Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in a mental health-related field and three years of mental health experience—one of which is in a crisis or acute care setting—are equally qualified. Completion of the NJDMHS Crisis Training Certification, or eligibility to take this examination, is also required. A valid driver's license with a clean five-year driving record that meets our organizational standards is mandatory. Moreover, the ability to work overnight hours is crucial, as this position demands flexibility and commitment to assist clients in their time of need. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited institution plus one-year experience in a psychiatric setting
  • Bachelor's Degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited institution plus three years of experience in mental health one of which is in a crisis or acute care setting.
  • Completion of NJDMHS Crisis Training Certification or eligibility to take this examination.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean five-year driving record that meets organizational standards and qualifies for insurance coverage.

  • Clear Five year driving record/abstract with ability to be insured by organizations carrier.
