About The Position
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is an advanced practice registered nurse responsible for administering anesthesia and providing anesthesia-related care before, during, and after surgical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and obstetrical procedures. The CRNA works collaboratively with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- Current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license and APRN license (state-specific)
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (as required)
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Experienced CRNAs
- Experience in hospital, surgical center, or specialty anesthesia preferred
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthesia patient assessments and evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans
- Administer general, regional, local, and monitored anesthesia care
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and physiological status throughout procedures
- Manage airways, including intubation and ventilation
- Respond to anesthesia-related emergencies and complications
- Provide post-anesthesia care and pain management
- Document anesthesia care accurately and timely in medical records
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Educate patients and families regarding anesthesia procedures and recovery
