JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Charleston, SC • Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: February 23, 2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: Variable full-time shifts including weekdays and some weekends COVERAGE DATES • Ongoing full-time coverage beginning February 23, 2026 • Minimum three-month commitment required • Option to extend beyond initial term PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 3–5 cases per day • Admissions: Surgical • Case Mix: General anesthesia, neuro and spine, orthopedics, oncology, ENT, GYN, urology; no blocks, no OB, no cardiac cases FACILITY INFORMATION • Trauma Level: Level I • EMR System: Epic • Office Equipment Available: Standard anesthesia equipment • Specialty Backup Available: Full surgical specialty support • Support Staff Available: Large CRNA practice group with physician anesthesiology supervision • Reason for Coverage: Full-time coverage need PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 60 days • Location Requirement: Must reside more than 60 miles from facility per MUSC policy • Parking: Not reimbursed; free lot available for early arrivals COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Not specified REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Administration of general anesthesia in a medically directed practice model • Anesthesia services in operating rooms and non-operating room locations JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active South Carolina CRNA license or well in process • Board: National CRNA certification required • Certifications: Current CRNA credentials required • Experience: Minimum three years of CRNA experience required • Other Qualifications: Proficiency with Epic EMR and flexibility to work across multiple campus locations DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide anesthesia care in a medically directed academic practice • Support surgical services across main hospital and affiliated outpatient locations • Manage anesthesia for a variety of surgical specialties and procedures • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and perioperative staff • Document all anesthesia care accurately in Epic EMR
