The Certified Recovery Support Specialist will serve as a role model and mento by sharing their own recovery journey to inspire and motivate clients of River Crossing managing detoxification. The CRSS will utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients in treatment and promote self-determination. The CRSS may also provide support during crises while ensuring the safety and well-being of clients in their care. This is a part-time position that works from Sunday to Monday, 8am-4pm. What you'll be doing: Provide assistance at the River Crossing registration desk. Coordinate resources, explaining the benefits clients which could include identifying items to take with them and coordination of transportation with an available case manager. Provide peer services in an individual and/or group setting as needed. Assist clients in identifying barriers to their recovery, relapse and warning signs and problem solving/coping skills. Assist clients in understanding their developing support systems that will aid in the recovery process. Share personal experience with substance use disorder/mental health as appropriate and serve as a role model in promoting recovery. Provide and bill for peer services as medically necessary & according to established individual treatment plan. Maintain necessary administrative & clinical documentation of service activities. Complete other duties as assigned.
