About The Position

As a member of the Engagement and Coordination Team, this individual will provide support to others in recovery from a substance use disorder. This individual will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to individuals seeking SUD treatment and assist individuals to help prevent relapse as well as promote long term recovery. The individual in this position will develop peer to peer relationships. This position will provide transportation for individuals seeking SUD treatment services to the provider of service and assist the individual during the treatment enrollment process. This position requires an ability to maintain strict confidentiality and a high degree of ethics.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Substance Use Disorders and mental health is required.
• Life experience in recovery from a substance use disorder.
• Ability to motivate and educate on substance use disorders and use of personal and community support to help with recovery process and prevent relapse.
• Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, authentic peer to peer relationships while maintaining boundaries, manage resources and supervise, work effectively and efficiently with all levels of staff and management; self- starting, motivated, and adept to changing technology; Proven skills at problem solving, planning; must be computer literate.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification as a Recovery Specialist or 54 hours of AOD education and pursuing a CRS Certification required.
• Act 33/34 and valid Driver’s License required.
