About The Position

Local CPA firm in Sherman Oaks, CA with 20 employees servicing small to mid-sized businesses in a variety of industries including light manufacturing, distribution, retail, professional services and entertainment. Seeking a motivated California CPA with tax preparation and financial statements experience for a full-time position with growth opportunities with partnership potential.

Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of public accounting and tax experience
Strong knowledge of partnership/LLC taxation
Some international tax experience with PFIC's and Subpart F income
Skilled in accounting and taxation research including federal, state, local and international
Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
Self-starter with the ability to organize work and projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
Communicates effectively in both written and verbal capacities
Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude
Ability to build good client relationships
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel), QuickBooks and tax software (Lacerte preferred)
Knowledge of federal, state and local tax laws and regulations including payroll, sales tax, county property statements, city business license, etc.

Responsibilities

Preparation and review of individual, fiduciary, partnership, corporate and multistate income tax returns
Preparation and review of compiled/preparation financial statements (both tax and GAAP basis)
Review of federal, state and local tax returns and reports
Assisting clients with bookkeeping and adjusting journal entries as required
Providing various accounting, tax and business consulting services
Project and staff management
