Performs specific functions authorized by the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy Rules under K.A.R. 68-5-15 and the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Stocks medications to all assigned areas of the pharmacy, including stocking of all incoming stock and restocking or disposing of all returned patient medications. Performs various functions such as making calculations to determine appropriate amounts of diluents or drug used when compounding IV admixtures, prepares all types of chemotherapy and/or specialized drips and/or TPN mixtures, fills retail prescriptions, checks drug recalls, records refrigerator temperatures, reports and resolves Pyxis problems and discrepancies, checks medication stock for out dates, etc. Demonstrates the ability to restock all drug kits (crash carts, trays, etc.) on a daily basis. Performs clerical functions such as answering the phone, taking orders, billing, etc. Maintains the pharmacy, equipment and storeroom in a clean, sterile manner as required. Functions performed affect the population ages newborn through geriatric. Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
