The Inpatient or Outpatient Certified Pharmacy Technician provides daily supportive services for the Department of Pharmacy according to health system policies and procedures and in compliance with Kentucky pharmacy laws and other regulatory agencies. The technician actively supports and participates in the department’s continuous quality improvement initiatives and competency assessments and demonstrates a commitment to customer service and patient safety. The technician responds to requests in a prompt and efficient manner. Level 3 technicians have demonstrated an exceptional skill level in the practice of sterile compounding, non-sterile compounding, automation functionality or another specialized skill set defined below. Defined Roles: Operating Room technician, experienced sterile technician (see years of practice requirement within UofL Health Technician Career Ladder), repackaging as a primary role, trained as a buyer as a non-primary role, trained as a research technician as a non-primary role, outpatient CS Parata tech as a non-primary role, outpatient “float” technician (trained at all retail locations within health system), quality improvement project involvement, serves as a disease state specialist, pharmacy intern designation, ability to cross cover for a patient care advocate.
