About The Position

The Certified Pest Control Production Manager will be responsible for managing cardholders and applying herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, and fertilizers to lawns, trees, and shrubs. This role involves diagnosing and resolving landscape horticultural issues using best management practices and integrated pest management (IPM) techniques. The licensed operator will map and route territories for spray treatments, ensuring precise and accurate application. The licensed operator will also mix chemicals in tanks according to specifications, applying them to target areas while maintaining proper speed and coverage. Daily cleaning and maintenance of spray filters and nozzles are required. Prior to use, the operator must verify that all safety shields and covers on equipment are in proper working order. Compliance with all company, state, and federal regulations regarding the handling and storage of chemicals, as well as manufacturer instructions, is essential. The licensed operator will also be responsible for maintaining accurate chemical application records and logs. Strict adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 year experience in landscape spraying
  • Spray Technician License (Florida)
  • Valid Driver's License with clean MVR
  • Commercial Fertilizer and Pesticide License (Florida)
  • Detail oriented with highly evolved organizational skills, effective time management and excellent follow up.
  • High level of professional maturity, superior written & oral communications skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to anticipate needs and problem solve.
  • Ability to manage change, flexible when priorities shift.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external partners.
  • Needs to be self-motivated, team player and results oriented.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced work environment, multi-task to meet deliverables with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Treat specific insect, weed, turf diseases, and nutritional deficiencies by applying the appropriate products.
  • Utilize Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices when applicable to help minimize pesticide use.
  • Ensure that spray equipment and vehicles assigned to your area are maintained in a safe, clean, and mechanically sound condition at all times.
  • Verify that all field vehicles and equipment comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Complete spray requests according to schedule and check out chemicals to crews, ensuring proper documentation on chemical check-out sheets.
  • Discuss the next day's tasks with the supervisor to ensure proper planning.
  • Maintain accurate records of chemical usage in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Use sound judgment in the application of chemicals, considering factors such as public exposure, weather conditions, and environmental impact.
  • Provide and maintain a safe work environment for employees assigned to spray duties in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Adhere to all company driving safety policies and regulations.
  • Complete weekly vehicle and equipment inspection reports, and perform daily/weekly inventory counts of equipment and supplies.
