About The Position

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a Certified Perfusionist supporting the Veterans Administration Hospital in Gainesville Florida.
Job Description
Prepare and assemble the heart-lung machine, intra-aortic balloon pumps and other related extracorporeal apparatus with the appropriate modifications and adaptations there of so as to be compatible with each patient, pathology and type of case.
Work in close professional support with government and contractor Cardiothoracic surgeons, anesthesiologists, professional nurses and personnel of other disciplines in the planning and performance of cardio-vascular procedures.
Maintain and operate the extracorporeal circulation apparatus (heart-lunmachine), provide oxygenated blood, anesthetics, blood chemical and base equilibrium, (specifically normal heart and lung functioning) to the patient during heart surgery.
Provide standby services for Interventional Cardiology procedures as requested by the Cardiothoracic Surgeon.
Performs all duties with minimal supervision or guidance. Cardio-Pulmonary Perfusionist shall consult with the Chief, Cardiothoracic Services, (BAMC) when patien issues cannot be resolved at the section level.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• BLS Certified thru AHA
• Must have 2 years of relevant experience
