About The Position

Join our team and be a part of something extraordinary as part of our Mobile Crisis Resolution Team program. Mobile Crisis Resolution Team program Legacy Treatment Services operates a State-designated Crisis Intervention Program for Chester County, providing evaluations 24 hours a day / 365 days a year to individuals experiencing a psychiatric crisis or posing a danger to self, others or property. The Certified Peer Specialist will provide supportive peer counseling and advocacy to adult consumers receiving services through this mobile crisis program.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, with proof of some post-high school training, college work, or certificate program; Associate’s degree preferred
Minimum of 1 year in recovery and must have knowledge of the mental health system
Expected to obtain general certification for peer services
Driver’s license must be in good standing, with no recent suspensions or violations of careless/reckless driving or excessive speeding of more than 20 MPH, and no more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years

Responsibilities

Demonstrates knowledge of mental illness and the services available in the community
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide car appropariate to the needs of the consumers served
Must be able to assess and interpreset data about he consumer’s status in oder to identify each consumer’s needs and provide the appropriate care, including age-related care, needed by the consumer group
Required to report to work in inclement weather
Part-time staff must work a minimum of 2 major holidays
