About The Position

Kahl Home, a Faith-Based, Nonprofit, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Geriatric Care facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm since 1955, is seeking a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). The facility is known for its state-of-the-art services, amenities, and excellent staff, making it a premier nursing facility in the Quad Cities.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited Program.
Licensed and in good standing in the State of Iowa and current registration (Should be a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association).

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in Long Term Care is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepares and provides treatments and activity programs for residents under the supervision of an OTR.
Assists with data collection and evaluation under the supervision of the OTR.
Completes required documentation, develops treatment goals, and coordinates treatment plans under the supervision of the OTR.
Communicates and interacts with team members and the resident’s family or caregivers.
Maintains equipment area, equipment, and supply inventory as required. Is responsible for the general cleanliness of the department.
Records attendance and helps maintain monthly statistics.
Assists in In-Service Education Program as requested.
Assists OTR in management of Adaptive Feeding Program, may perform feeding evaluations as experience permits.
