About The Position
Morningstar Living is currently hiring a Per diem, Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant at our Moravian Hall Square Campus in Nazareth, PA. Shifts are on an as needed basis and there is no guarantee of specific hours. Candidates should have availability to work on both weekdays and weekends. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supports residents in improving independence, safety, and quality of life by delivering hands-on occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist across rehabilitation and long-term care setting. This location is now home to over 300 senior residents experiencing the regions' best services in Assisted Living, Memory Support Care, Rehabilitation, and Nursing Care. Requirements
- Graduate of an AOTA (American Occupational Therapy Association), accredited COTA Educational Program.
- Thorough knowledge of Principles and Practices of Occupational Therapy; effectiveness in assessing residents’ needs and in providing care and support to clients of all ages on an in or outpatient basis under the direction of an O.T.
- Experience in outpatient and geriatric services.
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy treatments per established plans of care
- Assist with resident assessments and track progress toward goals
- Modify treatment activities in collaboration with the supervising OT
- Educate residents and caregivers on therapy goals and carryover strategies
- Document treatment sessions accurately and timely
- Ensure resident safety, dignity, and confidentiality at all times
