The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant provides direct clinical support under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. This role assists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans designed to improve functional abilities, promote independence, and enhance quality of life for individuals with physical, developmental, or cognitive challenges. The COTA provides therapeutic interventions to address daily living skills, fine motor coordination, and sensory integration, while continuously monitoring and documenting patient progress in compliance with Pennsylvania regulatory standards and HIPAA requirements. Collaboration with occupational therapists, interdisciplinary team members, and families is essential to ensure treatment goals are met and patient outcomes are optimized. The COTA also assists in modifying treatment approaches based on clinical assessments and contributes to maintaining a safe, supportive, and compliant therapeutic environment.
